Wall door stop

What is a wall buffer?

A wall buffer is a small but useful structural element that is mounted on the wall to absorb the impact of an opening door, preventing the door handle or the door itself from causing damage to the wall. Wall bumpers are available in different shapes, sizes and materials, including rubber, plastic, metal or even wood, and can range from simple, discreet designs to decorative elements. Their installation is a preventative measure to protect walls from dents, scratches or other damage that can be caused by doors slamming open.

What is the difference between a wall buffer and a floor door buffer?

The main difference between a wall buffer and a floor door buffer lies in their positioning and installation method:

  • Wall bumpers are fitted directly to the wall, at the point where the door handle or other part of the door would touch the wall if it were fully open. They are designed to absorb the impact and protect both the wall and the door from damage.
  • Floor door bumpers, on the other hand, are installed on or in the floor, typically in the path of the door or at a certain distance from the wall, to prevent the door from opening fully and damaging the wall or furniture behind the door.
